"collapse" isnt a great word for large scale trends because in civilizational terms anything less than ~100 years is a "collapse" but to humans thats multiple generations and it feels painfully slow,

i think we're in collapse right now and theres still tons of opportunity at the individual level to get rich (maybe more than ever), but that opportunity is zero-sum and comes in the form of scamming the average person

instead of inventing a new useful product or drilling a new oil well, today to get rich youd probably create a platform to trade options contracts on a leveraged prediction market that bets on whether zelensky will wear a suit next week. there is almost no real growth

but money will keep getting printed and so you can still get rich
