I told my dear old dad that he had better do the honorable thing and march out into the woods and die of exposure, because I sure as fuck would lose all respect for him if she chose to waste away in a nursing home while suffering from dementia.

That’s not what it means by healthcare. There are 10+ employees for every physician in an HMO these days, because employees = value and growth. That’s what the investors want, so they keep padding the company with coat-holders, which drives up costs.

This is why only 29 of the 30 top economies on Earth have nationalized healtchcare.
