My friend started his degree in coding literally right before the AI revolution began, and now every time I talk to him he keeps trying to lie to himself that he didn't waste the last 5 years of his life for something that will no longer be a job in a few years

Do you know any other retards that fell for the coding meme? Remember to never do what the Jews tell you to

I'm assuming a software engineer. I hear they give you a discount of fursuits if you get a software engineering degree.

Yeah that's the term. Idiot tells me he did all his assignments with ChatGPT and he still can't connect together the fact that he's not going to be needed anymore

Actual software engineering is not about "coding", it's about designing software systems to solve problems (usually for an organization). AI still can't do that.

Anyway the average programmer usually becomes a code monkey in the webshit field, regardless of the degree. And yes, the AI can replace a lot of them

>that he didn't waste the last 5 years of his life for something that will no longer be a job in a few years
he didn't
knowing how to code is another skill just like knowing how to read, do math or know multiple languages
these skills will always be valuable and provide dividends for a lifetime even if ai could do all of these better than any human already today
