America hates investing in railroads because the system would only be planned for passenger traffic. Corporations would kill rather than pay people to load and unload train cars AND trucks.

We simply don't want to commit to redesigning urban centers and we don't want to pay for taxis to take us to the train stations. A taxi to the other side of town would likely cost the same as a train trip to another city, and the buses are filled with ghetto monkeys flinging poo.
