Democrats have been grooming their base to despise and resent non-Democrats for decades but it really took off big time under Obama. There was a a lot of right wing attacks on Obama and the left doubled down on the resentment they had simmering. It came to a boil and it’s just been boiling over ever since. Trump really made them go insane and it’s just been like mask off hatred for the right ever since he got elected in 2016.

You have to understand as well that in the leftist mythology, the reason either they or the people they champion have hard lives, the reason why utopia hasn’t been achieved yet, is because there are hateful or greedy right wingers holding them back.
