that being said i saw an orange colored orb like that once. it was in arizona on a trip. it looked like it cruised across the skyline really slow, then it shot up in the air. i didnt think it was a UFO, so i got real retarded and rented books and shit to read about it. it was a weird time in the 00s and i dont really remember anything about it other than thinking 'huh so ball lightning is apparently a thing i guess, neat'

Ball lighting happens all the time, but it's usually high up. In some places it's been known to precede earthquakes by a few minutes. They have even created something like ball lightning in a lab.
One working theory is that it's like a slowly discharging capacitor made of plasmas. The center has a charge and the outside has the opposite charge, and for some physical reason they can't combine instantly like one would expect. The voltage difference in the "gas-plasma capacitor" can go into the hundreds of thousands.

I saw an atypically broad lightning bolt that lasted for about 3 seconds change through the color spectrum from blue to red.
I've never seen a video or description like it.

Also had grandparents with a singed old oven who said their house was struck by lightning and a glowing ball crept across the floor to the oven and left the mark when it grounded/disappeared.

My dad saw it in tennessee like 70 years ago during a severe thunderstorm. Said it was about 2 inches across and went through a window and then popped out of existance. He refused to go near it or touch it, in his words I thought it would kill me. I have no reason to doubt his story. My dad does not just make up stuff.
