Superman VS the Elite had him jumping into a vaguely middle-eastern/post USSR conflict to try to stop it, telling the villain of the story that the "world doesn't need healing," and pimp slapping him bloody. It was all very idealistic and nonjewish despite the origins of the character.

Sometimes they run Superman like Kal El the Jewish God and sometimes they run him like Clark Kent the simple man from Kansas like they are flipping a coin.
