Making USA consumers pay way more for the goods we want with some BS federal sales tax masked as a tariff doesn't help small producers in other country.
Being it just costs them sales. They also fail to gain more income from the sales they do make as they would from a price increase on their end. Being they never see any of the tariff money. It's just a tax on Americans, paid by Americans on good from outside our country.
and it's not like you can just easily replace top level buyers in any market segment. So a biz in 3rd world no where implodes based off the whims of whatever Trump decided to do on a country wide level due to policies the random widget maker had no input in at all.
Meanwhile we, the US consumer just get are pockets picked for more money to the gov for tax breaks for the wealthy and to support Israel.
