I manage a few of a factory's warehouses and distribution buildings, after having weeks where we had to re-train and onboard new hires (and no-shows incurring huge losses because the distribution centers are used by contractors who have penalties if the goods aren't ready when they arrive) so I pushed for simply paying them 3$ to 5$/hr more than the local average since we'd still save from training and hiring costs in the end and as a bonus we got the best and most reliable employees we could find.
