>>510087141 (OP)Because Putin won't agree to a peace deal which would make Ukraine joining NATO redundant. In other words, even a cease fire that comes with territory given to them doesn't earn Ukraine any promises or protections from future invasions. Putin won't agree to anything that says Ukraine gets protected if they try again because they want to try again. They fully intend to take Ukraine in the future and Putin may have been transparent in that or made it obvious in the deals he would refuse. So Trump turned on Russia because they couldn't be cool. Which would have been cool, sure the public could be skeptical with any peace deal, but there were certain assurances that would have been impressive even if you won't hold your breath. So Trump is likely frustrated with Putin for not taking the easy way he provided and Putin is likely frustrated because Trump somehow didn't expect this response and isn't willing to work with Putin on this one.
