ARs are designed for combat, as in the need to kill groups of armed people who may be in vehicles. If someone is carrying out a mass shooting, it may be with an AR, but it's more than likely going to be a handgun that takes out the shooter.

In Uvalde, the cops were slow to act because of the type of gun the shooter had. It was meant to kill groups of them.
