He was more or less doomed the moment he invaded Poland because he broke the balance of power in the Europe and there was no way he would be allowed to continue expanding after that. He practically made everything in his power to make everyone unite against him even despite ideological differences. Honestly, this kind of miscalculation is astonishing - it doesn't take a genius to realize that conquering neighbours left and right would not make you many allies. Germany IS Europe fool. It's the heart of Europe. Poland is a territory fought over and shared by the German and Russian empires throughout history. That's why Polen is a non issue. Even though the British empire was the predominant maritime empire of the world, Europe was still Germany's backyard.

Without Hitler the entire European continent would've been overran by the communist hoards like a modern day Mongolian hoard. Which has never happened and will never happen in human history.
