I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. tried different WMs back in the day (i3, bspwm) - too much hassle to set up, still looked weird with pop-up windows
tried DEs (all major - KDE, gnome, XFCE, LXDE MATE, cinnamon) - some better, some worse, still felt unpolished
switched to mac back in mojave days - I'll happy now
yeah, every update since mojave kinda makes things worse and worse, maybe someday i'll switch back
but for now - mac for main computer, linux for "server"

Weird. What distro did you try? My machine boots and gets to operating speed dramatically faster than Windows. Windows is so fucking slow when you boot for the next 5 minutes. Linux is snappy after your autostart programs do their thing, which takes a few seconds for me.

Everyone gets on my case for using Ubuntu but I’ve been using it since 2010 and I haven’t had any issues. If you want a great distro to switch to, endeavourOS is great. It’s fast, crammed with options and it’s built on arch so everyone runs it.
