Here's what I do instead. I grab a beer- then get on my zero turn mower or the rotary mower on the tractor (no beer if I'm on the tractor though)... and I just blast for a few hours. Then I go to my sitting chair under my old wooden barn, and drink a few more beers and watch the sunset and the birds hop around in the irrigation under my fruit trees. Then I get a few more beers and watch the fire flies and look at the stars and listen to the coyotes yipping.

The American countryside is actually littered with old taverns in the parts of the country that predate cars really if it wasn't for cars we would still have a pub culture. As it is, since we use cars to go anywhere farther than a quarter mile, alcoholism isn't very viable

Yes I've read that story. Alot of times very old trees are essentially dead but have a bit of live wood somewhere inside. When a tree ages to extremes, the tops fall out and it gets burls and gets gnarled up and sort of slowly decays till it is just a stumpy base.
