>young people are falling behind
>everyone is broke
>no one is working anymore

You are wrong and in your NEET bubble. Things are cutthroat now.

>getting into colleges is getting more and more competitive
Your parents just needed to be top 5% of their podunk rural high school to get into any Ivy league they wanted. Now, a perfect GPA, perfect SAT, valedictorian is just the beginning. You really need national (at minimum, preferably international) recognition at something to have a fair shot at Ivy.
>nobody is working
Everyone and their grandma is making 300k+ a year working in tech now. This has been the case since circa 2018, AI notwithstanding.
>nobody is buying houses
Everyone I know has a starter home by 30, even the random fucks from high school

What's actually happening is asian culture is coming west. Ultra competitive do or die mentality. The top 30% are gunning like hell. The middle 50% are plodding along, getting nowhere in a more competitive society. The bottom 20% (you) are completely priced out and unable to compete in the society that has outgrown you tremendously, whereas you may have had a fighting chance 15 years ago.
