You know what I mean. The whole image of a politician in a liberal democracy means that he always has to court fringe voters. So Trump has to court black republicans. They have to say Democrats are the real racists. That's how democracy works. And they wouldn't ever dream of saying that women's rights need to be revoked. A parliamentary politician is constantly refining his public persona to maximize his voter popularity. Their big tent is continuously getting bigger. That is why western democracies are so susceptible to destruction by empowered minorities. Think of how greedy democrat politicians are for latino voters to jump the border or for inner city blacks to have dozens of welfare babies who will vote for them. That same lust is why Trump courts nonwhites and why politicians gave women the vote back in the day. This sytem favors politicians who are constantly courting votes from as many different groups as possible and who never say anything that really makes any group stop voting for them. Hence we will never have an openly racist national politician.
