I find it unlikely that Obama just retired from politics and public life altogether. And his activities have been suspiciously private since 2016. The media's nonstop political campaign against Trump over the last eight years was never organic. There was somebody pushing down from above. Obama has been quietly directing the media's smear campaign that has almost cleaved the US apart and that has ellicited multiple assassination attempts against President Trump.
It's in Obama's nature to behave this way. He was treated as the messiah by the MSM. He is a vain and passive-aggressive homosexual man who's afraid that Trump is ruining his legacy.

No, it was george hw bush who instigated the wave of anti trump coverage. The man was dangerous, worse than his son.
Now, obama might have gotten the mantle after george kick the bucket. But the momentum was still there, and still is here.
