>>510158985I don't really know Russia well to say how widespread poverty stricken shanty towns are or if this is just cherry picking but I have serious doubts that public infrastructure in Russia is worse than Brazil for even the most basic shit like light poles. Look up online, there have been like 5 or 6 cases that I recall seeing reported in the news in the last decade or so of people getting electrocuted and dying because they touched a light pole in some part of Brazil. The lawlessness in this country would make any African blush. Building codes, certifications, all those things exist and are required but nothing is seriously enforced. If you touch a light pole in Brazil and die, if your family is lucky, police will investigate it, a lawsuit will be filed and a decade or more later no one will be held accountable and maybe your family gets some peanuts as compensation.
