That's true, my skill is at junior level, and honestly I learned a lot by using AI, simply because AI makes all those mistakes I might have made, but it makes them in 15 seconds instead of 15 days. So I spend most of my time debugging and figuring out what doesn't work. Overall though I'm only faster with very bad APIs. With good APIs I'm faster than the AI because I just have less to debug. It's really weird. I think at the end of the day people who learned without AI are going to be superior, but it will take them too long to get there, so most coders will use AI. Path of low resistance. It will make bootcamps where you're forced to not use AI even more important

right now, even with maximum effort, the best they can manage is some database with an API and a frontend, and even that barely works. i find it hard to imagine these people being able to pivot to ML based products, in terms of product thinking, business execution, development, and ops. it's an entirely different paradigm.
