Multiple life sentences seems like it would make it less likely for a judge/comittee to reduce their sentence time so that they can be released on good behaviour.

The nation of Islam doesn't even do that, they have their own distinct mythology that is not found in the Koran or any other Muslim sect's writings. They may follow the Koran to a degree, but they're more like Mormons where they have their own book that is more important to them.
