There are a number of different groups capable of putting up sustained armed resistance here.

We have 700,000 armed police. They could fracture unpredictably. Also 180,000 armed sheriffs and deputies, who could act independently of other local law enforcement. Also 60,000 armed state troopers.

We have lots of different branches of the armed forces that could fracture. US Army (active) is 465,000. Reserves is 174,000. US Navy (active) is 347,000. US National Guard is 325,000. Marines are 177,000. Air national guard is 107,000.

If any of them decide to go against the federal government, there would be extreme facturing based on different regiment loyalties. Federal law enforcement is 132,000. Border patrol is 20,000. ICE is about to jump to around ~15,000 at least I would guess.

Then you have gangs... Surenos have at least 100,000 armed members. Bloods have 20,000-30,000. Crips have 30,000. Latin Kings is around 20,000. MS-13 is 10,000. Gangster Disciples have 25,000. Vice lords have 20,000. Aryan Brotherhood 15,000. 18th Street Gang 10,000-15,000. Hells Angels 3,500. All with extreme loyalty, rigid power structures. They could easily act as standing armies.

"Extremist" groups like Oath keepers, Proud Boys, Boogaloos, New Black Panther Party, all have numbers in the thousands. Three percenters have over 10,000.

Cartels would at least keep thousands armed along smuggling routes. Local militias in the country are in hundreds of cells, numbering up to 20,000. Private military contractors 20,000.

So there's already 30 fucking possible factions each capable of massive destruction. With the amount of wealth in the US I could see their numbers growing from foreign intervention and arms supplying.

So if the government collapsed top down, state governors would take the reins, have to reel in gang leaders, militias commanders and local sheriffs.

It would undoubtedly be the most violent civil war in the history of nations. I'm scared bros...

I highly doubt the armed forces, police, militias and religious groups are all gonna agree. Jews are too powerful. If we're in active civil war then the news will probably stop and nobody will really know what the fuck is going on and just concentrate on their local environment.
