It's impossible for a jew to follow the torah. That's why they have the talmud, the big book of workarounds.
i.e. they can't sacrifice in the temple twice a day like commanded. They can't travel to the temple and sacrifice for feasts. Those commands in the torah are unfulfillable (for jews - Catholics have the sacrifice). That's why they have their "well, God said this but we'll do this instead" in the talmud.
