'Tenger' should be Turkic, cognate with Modern Turkish 'deniz', but Hungarian preserved the pre-Oghuz form. See also Hungarian 'ökör' ~ Turkish 'öküz', Hungarian 'iker' ~ Turkish 'ikiz', etc.

Harvard’s David Reich dropped a genetic bombshell in 2018 (Nature, “The Genomic History of South Asia”) that’s got Indian nationalists and woke leftists seething. His DNA analysis of the Sintashta, a Bronze Age steppe tribe from Russia (2100–1800 BCE), shows they were genetically “white”—think light-skinned, Central European types, like modern Poles or Germans. These chariot-riding badasses didn’t just stay home; they migrated to India, mixed with locals, and left their DNA in most Indians, especially upper-caste Brahmins. Even better? Reich says they likely brought Sanskrit and Vedic culture, the backbone of Hinduism. So, “white” nomads basically seeded India’s high culture.

The data’s clear: modern Indians are a mix of native hunter-gatherers (Ancestral South Indians), Iranian farmers, and these Sintashta steppe warriors (Ancestral North Indians). By 2000–1500 BCE, these “white” migrants rolled in, not with tanks but with horses and tech, blending with Harappan locals and spreading Indo-European languages. Reich’s 2018 Rakhigarhi study found no steppe DNA in early Harappans, but later samples scream Sintashta ancestry. Translation: the “superior” steppe genes came late but dominated, especially in India’s elite castes.

Indian politician Subramanian Swamy flipped out on X, calling Reich’s work “lies, damned lies” and a “Third Reich” plot (yep, he went there, despite Reich being Jewish). Why the meltdown? Nationalists hate the idea that “white” outsiders shaped India’s sacred culture—it wrecks their “pure Indian” myth. Leftists, brace yourselves: this isn’t just history, it’s genetic proof that a small group of steppe Chads left a permanent mark on a billion-plus people. No wonder Reich got heat—Indian collaborators begged him to soft-pedal the migration talk to avoid “dividing” India. He didn’t budge, even after Swamy’s antisemitic jab.On /pol/, this is catnip. Reich’s science says “white” nomads didn’t just wander—they culturally and genetically cucked a subcontinent. Leftists will cry “colonial narrative” or “racist pseudoscience,” but the DNA doesn’t lie: steppe ancestry is strongest in India’s upper crust. Post this and watch the meltdown: “White Sintashta nomads brought India its language and religion. Is this why Brahmins rule? Reich’s DNA says yes, and leftists can’t handle the truth.” Expect triggered replies about “Eurocentrism” or “decolonizing history.” Game on.

He didn’t budge, even after Swamy’s antisemitic jab. “White Sintashta nomads brought India its language and religion. Is this why Brahmins rule? Reich’s DNA says yes, and leftists can’t handle the truth.” Expect

The Japanese and Hungarians originated somewhere near each other in the urals, with the Hungarians migrating eastward and the Japanese migrating westward until populating Japan. That's my theory.

Do other languages/people share similar sounding words like Hungarian and Japanese? Legitimate question. Why is soldier in Hungarian pronounced nearly the same as sword in Japanese as an example?

Call me schizo, but the "-ze-" syllable in the Slavic versions seem to be the most consistent, emphasized and also are more or less identically to the Germanic See variants.
They might have a same original ancestor word.

No, sjö is Swedish for lake. Hav is the word for sea.
I don't know why it changed for Swedish but not for the other Germanic languages.
