during the Timothy Simpkins case, who was a black high schooler who shot 3 people at school and blamed bullying, he failed 4 drug tests for marijuana while out on bond and was never violated nor brought back in front of his bond judge. his PO just let it slide while he was awaiting his trial on house arrest. i fear the same thing is happening with karmelo anthony if Texas has done this before. he is probably also on social media, posting or messaging from an alt account, because all the kids these days need their social media. how do we make sure POs and courts sufficiently punish bond violations for murder defendants? and by the way timothy simpkins got 12 years with 6 minimum for shooting 3 people at school possibly because he cried on the stand and blamed bullying

I got a DUI like 25 years ago. Was way less of a big deal back then. I was out on bond. Had to go to like an intake thing for them to evaluate me and my worthiness for pretrial diversion. Of course they give me a piss test. Tested positive for weed. Go to court the next day, white judge immediately revokes my bond and sends me to Cook County for a night where I had to bond out again the next morning. smoking weed doesnt revoke your bond in plenty of states. the bond conditions are typically like stay away from the victim, stay away from where the crime supposedly happened. not dont do additional crimes, if that happens you just get charged with something new and can bond out on that too you dont get your original bond revoked.
