i hate car culture so much, and its sad bc most of it is due to zoning. all north american cities are soulless. i go days without seeing any pedestrians only cars. it feels atomizing. its also sad because when i've been to walkable places where there are people and live on the street its so easy to spontaneously meet friends and do fun things. fuck cars, and fuck suburbs.

bus is always going to be slow because it has to stop and start to let people on and off constantly. they need a way to pick up and deploy passengers while moving, maybe with a kind of net that shoots out and grabs the people at the bus stop and drags them in. and then everytime the bus stops at a stop sign the passengers who want off get automatically ejected by the floor tilting and dumping them out a back door.

It's inconvenient. To use the bus to get to work, I would have to walk 5 minutes to the bus stop, wait until it gets there. Once I'm on that 5 mile trip, I have to transfer for the last 3/4 mile but there's no way the other bus will be on time so might as well walk, now we're talking another 15 minutes of walking. Or I can just drive there and it would take me 15 minutes at worst.

When I went to Scotland the locals bragged about their transportation networks like rail and busses, meanwhile their bus networks had the same issues ours had(shitty, badly planned routes, schedules that leave a third of the workers without any transport, and they were crammed full of riffraff, junkies, and ne'erdowell's, on top of it only being "easy" to have those transport networks because Their shitty impoverished island is smaller than several forests in my province. Niggers and criminals exclusively use public transport and commit crimes on public transport. Not everyone should get a drivers' license either (because they are an obvious danger and cannot intellectually be responsible enough to drive a motor vehicle). This means some of the people are just going to have to suck it up and ride with niggers and criminals and have a (20x increased chance of being a victim of violent crime) or they need to get bicycles or hitch a ride with responsible drivers that they are friends with.

It isn't any better in Germany. Even at the best of times, it's merely just as fast as my car, but it's basically a coin toss if it can keep that schedule or if it will have massive delays and I'll be late.
On top of that, it's full of shitskins and nogs who beg for money and hobos who smell like piss.
It is also expensive as fuck.

I am in favor of a better public transport system, especially after I have personally experienced how it works in Japan.
But the plan has to be to fix public transport so people use it voluntarily, not to ban every better alternative.
