As a child I had to use the free lunch program at our school. It wasn't a problem at all. It wasn't difficult to get. Then once my parents got their shit together and could afford life we stopped using it. I think my sisters and I used it for like 2 years maybe. Now what you must understand is that this is a VERY white and Christian train of thought. Only using something when you actually genuinely need it. Non-whites look at programs like this as something to just use no matter what. They feel foolish for NOT using it even if they do not genuinely need it.
