Russia is still recruiting volunteers and doing full timescale training, Ukraine is throwing meat in a van and sending it to the front. Russia will end up taking whatever they want and now they know it. Why would you negotiate a limited settlement when you can take whatever you want militarily. USA/NATO should've offered the 4 Oblasts 2 years ago when Russia was at least struggling a little. Now they have zero reason to accept, hence the panic and tough guy BS from Trump.
