The only way to imageboard is to embrace the chaos. I even I think the catalog was a mistake and that people having to scroll through threads page by page generates more organic engagement on a broader range of topics. I've also on occasion seen people shilling filter lists that slip in terms that are critical of islam or china, or russia, or even israel trying to fool people into copy pasting them and blinding themselves. Plus in filtering you don't see the shit threads, so the ones that actually violate rules don't get reported as much, so they stay up longer, and it's then those shit threads being left up longer become justification for using filters in a self fulfilling prophecy that actively harms that site and a boards quality by removing themselves from much of it and many of it's users.
