It's an actual psychological disorder, I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
Basically, you get away with something and face no consequences. So you start doing more blatant things to try to get a reaction.
But if you're incredibly wealthy and connected and as a result effectively above the law, the reaction never comes.
So you just keep ramping up, doing more bizarre, depraved, and blatant things, waiting for SOMETHING to happen as a result.
That's why so many rich and powerful people are pedos. It's not even about fucking children, it's about going as far as you can to get the thrill of finally getting caught.
