You have no idea how true this is. I'm going through a mid-life crisis realising that my mother screwed me over completely and systematically. Extreme tunnel vision due to being a single mother, and a toxic sense of superiority due to her working really hard at her two jobs.

There are too many example to count, but one major one was when I wanted to study Japanese in college. I tried to get into one of the top universities (free tuition), but as it turned out, you essentially had to be a laureate to have a shot at claiming one of the 10 spots. Whatever, plan B. Let's look at some other schools. I find one, seems decent. I show it to mom, she barely glances at it and says "they'll swindle you, they won't teach you anything, nobody recognizes this school." She immediately follows it up with "I found this school where you can learn study English translation, you'll get a good job, the school is prestigious, etc." Keep in mind that I had been telling her for a year straight that I wanted to study Japanese. Despite this, she pulls this shit at the 11th hour, right at my most desperate. Guess what happens? I go there and ultimately end up wasting about 11 years of my life on something I could never quite succeed at, first studying and then trying to stay afloat on the job market. There was a particular event that made me realize how truly worthless all my effort was, and I started phasing away from that and into teaching (I like teaching, so hey).

Now I see what my mistake was, should've walked out the door the second she did that, but at the time I was crazily sheltered and simply couldn't comprehend the enormity of what was happening.

Imagine being 40 and still living at home with no edcuation, no jobskills or even the ability to live alone. I cant. Im not lazy, nor refusing to "grow up". I cant. I never learned it, not because of unwillingness but because its something I cant aquire anymore. My father almost killed me when I was 9 years old. He slit my underfeet with a razor and put salt on because I scratched his shitty old car with an old bike I found in a ditch, because my useless father spend all his money on alcohol, gambling and prostitutes. A tiny scratch and violent outburst was all it took to ruin my life for the next 3 decades. I almost killed him several times but I didnt because of my angel mother. Who was also heavily abused. Now that motherfucker cant even look me in the eye and is deadly afraid of me. But there is no retribution. Only anger, resentment and a deep void. Dreams that could have been but will never come to be.

My parents divorced when I was 15. My Mom is a feminist and my dad while being a successful coder is not a real fighter. I never had a chance.

I was born overly sensitive and my mom encouraged my sensitiveness. I suffer from panic attacks and I get overwhelmed easily. Probly undiagnosed autism or something but I got bad AdHD for sure. Lots of therapy and exposing myself to fears had mostly cured my OCD but i still seem to prefer video games, alcohol weed and jacking off then trying 250% every single day.

I'm 39 now and fat and easily distracted and rage sometimes. Friends care and my cat cares and my family cares but my doctors and society don't care that much. Every single time I put effort into something I usually fail get betrayed or out preformed.

I don't know why we are a generation of losers. I think it's a combination of things. Feminism said they wanted sensitive males and maybe some women do but most women want selectively aggressive males and secretly love violence while preaching about rape being bad while they constantly have rape fantasies. It's just so weird. People don't say they think they just say what they think people want to hear. 4chan always attracted me because people were more honest here.
