Isn't it obvious? They're too big a powerhouse due to slave-labor level of wages. Even if the USA shafts them, the rest of the world imports from China.

we can switch supply chains to mexico or vietnam

Therfore, you pay the government the extra cash, to cover the "deficit", in order to buy your funkos and garbage.
If you don't like it, build them here, or stop buying it.
