Isn't it obvious? They're too big a powerhouse due to slave-labor level of wages. Even if the USA shafts them, the rest of the world imports from China.

Why are our 'allies' buying cheap goods from our common enemy and not premium USA products?

They're too big and have too many customers. Tariffs are only effective when two parties play along.

This entirely.
Same amount of goods and it's all 15-20% higher than last year before you even add tariffs.

Nah, lack of domestic demand causes a spike in exports inherently.

Tariff's are for fixing the deficit and getting the government surplus again. It isn't meant to "work against China".

china has no real competitors
we can switch supply chains to mexico or vietnam
but they just lead back to china
and everyone is making deals with them to offset our tariffs

Because they're not influenced by any (((greatest allies))), so they haven't hollowed out then ruined their economy or got involved in unnecessary wars to suit the apocalyptic religious beliefs of mentally-ill people without foreskins.

Importers usually foot the cost.

Therfore, you pay the government the extra cash, to cover the "deficit", in order to buy your funkos and garbage.

If you don't like it, build them here, or stop buying it.

The Chinese goods were so dirt cheap that the tariffs can be absorbed by US consoomers so the tariff as usual has just ended up being a tax on the people.
