This is a better map BTW because things like RFC or NRO aren't grids themselves they just are bodies to regulate usage. There's really 3 grids in the USA.

El Paso is safe.

The massive generating states all have more nuclear power than they need (except WV which is probably coal and gas), that's what mostly drives their exceptional excess. AZ's single nuke facility supplies critical power to LA, Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix and Tucson. PA has 8 facilities and AL has 5.

do yourself a favor and get yourself a cheap handcranked radio flashlight at the hardware store.

I remember decades ago when the midwest lost power for several days. The worst part was not knowing what was going on. With this, you can at least pick up the radio stations, which would let you know if it's just you or something bigger.

The plasmoid engine may in fact be a scam as presented, it might just be a Pogue process carb with extra steps
On a separate note for anyone interested in niche energy generation systems. I recently chemically analyzed the full Bendall "plasmoid" engine and came to the conclusion it is actually just a Pogue process engine (a scam but a successful scam that works in a different way than advertised). You can take the "plasmoid generator/bubbler" design and strap it to any combustion engine and automatically get 40% (typically 30-60% on measurements) more fuel efficiency. If you fully customize and optimize the setup you can theoretically get the mpg efficiency that Pogue referenced back in the 1930s-1950s (10 times greater fuel efficiency with no power loss long term). The other guy who discovered the Pogue process was Tom Ogle, who was killed by random gunshot after coming out with the rediscovery. Canada patent 2876642 is another rediscovery (2014), similar claim to Ogle and Pogue. You can stretch your fuel much farther with a successfully optimized system.

Hoover is a good generator but PV generating station generates 10 times as much electricity. The Colorado river dams are also very low in recent years which will lead to reduced output if we don't get about 3-5 wet monsoons coupled with wet winters in a row back to back.

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso,
Power once flowed from a grid far away,
Tied to the East through the state of old Texas,
But El Paso longed for the sun every day.

Born on the edge of the great Western Intertie,
Lines stretching far from the Rockies to coast,
Solar and wind from the deserts and mesas,
Could give El Paso what it needed most.

Back in the days of the old ERCOT system,
El Paso stood mostly on its own,
Isolated, a lone little outpost,
A city with grid ties that barely were known.

But planners and dreamers and grid engineers,
Looked to the West with a bold, steady gaze.
โ€œWhy not connect to that wide-open network?
Clean power could flow here for years and for days!โ€

Power from sunshine, high desert windlines,
Energy flowing through copper and steel,
Linking the mountain towns, crossing state lines,
Bringing El Paso a grid that could heal.

So they built ties with the Western Connection,
Intermountain and Palo Verde too,
No longer stuck in a corner forgotten,
El Paso's grid had a bright future view.

Now when the heat rises high in the canyon,
And ACs are running from dusk until dawn,
The lights still stay on in homes and in towers,
Because the Westโ€™s power keeps humming along.

Bless the linemen, the wires that bind them,
From Oregon south to the New Mexico plains,
Power flows westward, eastward, and onward,
And El Paso thrives on its Western domain.

Plus, 1,200 watts in portable batteries with 400 watt inversion I can charge from the cars cigarette lighter over 150 watt inversion, Also 5 standalone solar lights a diesel parking heater, an electric blanket and a wood burning stove I can run as a cook top. Also various mini cell phone charging banks I can charge head lights, Walkie talkies, flashlights etc and 220 gallons of rain water collection. I should be ok during (another) power outage. The PV station in AZ was for many decades the largest single generating station on Earth, and is still among the top generating stations on Earth. If the USA actually wanted to get serious about nuclear energy it wouldn't have canned Alvin Weinberg and Thorium fuel cycle reactors. Modern Thorium fuel cycle reactors can theoretically achieve 99% fuel utilization rates, whereas conventional 1940s tech uranium reactors only achieve 1-5% fuel utilization rates. The theoretical extension of total fuel supply using Thorium cycle reactors would outlast the Uranium fuel cycle by at least 700 years globally. But again, the corporations and politicians that be, hate efficiency unless it has to do with their profits.

Not just family. People are slow to warm up but when you make friends there ypu make a friend for life. If you have a disfunctional family, you still have a friend group who will look out for you.
I mean took me in for months kinda look out for you when I had no place to live.
I don't know if it's like this anymore. Since COVID everyone feels like a brainwashed mess and no one is close anymore or likes to just "hang out" and spend time together.

Texas is retarded. It's also not what I or most other mountain westerners consider SW. Roughly 20 million people depend on power (and water) imports from AZ. One of the only states planning to build new reactors ("new" as in 1940s tech 2% fuel utilization reactors) is Utah. Energy wise pretty much every western US state other than CA is fine. The eastern US uses a fuckton more electricity despite having more reactors because it has 3 times the population on average, most of the deficit states are eastern.

Two things... El Paso doesn't have Tourism. There ain't anything to come from out of town and see.
And the second https://elpasomatters.org/2024/02/05/el-paso-crime-fbi-data-safe-city/
Check the sources and the break down per capita, it has the FBI data.
And yeah, I can vouch that I never felt unsafe walking around late at night anywhere in the city, even in down town or low income areas.
>Everyone is Obese
That's an America issue
>Zogbots
Military tends to stay in the North East and doesn't mix too much with locals. No where as large a population as the East Coast.

False. Cattlemans (the original not the dogshit chain with the same name) is one of the best steak houses in the country.
>Drunk Drivers galore
Lol WTF? Never heard this complaint.
>Borders Mexico
.... yeah, we know.
>Shit Infrastructure
Bullshit. El paso not only has solid infrastructure cause there is barely any rain to erode anything, but fixes shit fast cause labor is cheap and is walkable as fuck.
I don't mean 15 minute city trash, I mean every neighborhood has sidewalks and none of this "built in the 1800s" ghetto rigged infrastructure.

But yeah, I get it and why you hated it there. If you don't make friends and find a group to hang with the town sucks. Having a group of spanish speakers that unlock fun shit in Mexico also made things more fun.

Hottest if you're a white dude.
A lot of chicks like Nikolul that I see dudes drool over I'm like "umm yeah, I went to school with like 4 chicks that look exactly like her, she's a 7"
They do put out easier though. El Paso was a place where it was much easier to get laid.
Also most "mexicans" in El Paso are half white cause apparently white people and Mexicans keep marrying into each others families.
Also just cause someone is "white" doesn't mean they aren't Mexican. Used to blow out of towners visiting me's mind when they would meet heavy accent broken english white mexicans and how common they were.

El Paso chicks (not just the latinas) were usually super down to earth though. That is something I miss terribly.
Bitches on the East coast annoy me and west coast annoys me more.
