It was built on the rejection of blood and soil nationalism. The promise was simple: anyone, from anywhere, could become American. You didn’t need the right ancestry—you needed the courage to build a better life and work alongside others to make it real.
Claiming that “blood and soil” is Americanism is, itself, anti-American.
