In fairness to the diehard MAGA supporters, they do use the trans issue as a proxy for their hatred of liberalism in general. So, while they gleefully embrace cruelty against transgender people genuinely, they are also using transgenderism as a symbol for the epitome of everything else they despise about contemporary liberalism.
I bring this up simply because I want to point out that unwavering support for Trump is often less about how wonderful donald trump is than it is about how horrible the very thought of the alternative to Trump actually is.
Democrats, for their part, have not come up with a compelling alternative for voters who are dissatisfied with a liberal-internationalist status quo. In fact, they have doubled down and become staunch totalitarian institutionalists in response to the MAGA phenomenon.
This isn't helpful if they're serious about winning back voters.
To the contrary, every point where Trump appears to have continued the policies of predecessors before him only serves to validate that the MAGA vote was worth it, if only because they know a Democrat would have done the same thing if not worse.
>It's NOT like any Democrat would have even talked about Epstein much less promised to release information on him in any meaningful way.
>it's not like any Democrat was going to stop sending money and weapons to Ukraine
>it's not like any Democrat wouldn't try and carry out regime change in Iran for Israel either
So, what MAGA still get to cling to is the fact that on the social issues they still got to win.
This is the same grift the Democrats pull on AOC and Bernie supporters: "no, you don't get to have free universal health care, affordable housing, or debt free college; but just LOOK at how nice we are to troons, women who want abortions, gays, immigrants, and the blacks! We're still better than those other fAsCiStS!"
