Trump was clearly an outsider to the ''traditional'' uniparty elites, but hes also part of the elite himself, and as such tneds to have the same worldview as them. They hate him because hes not part of the ''gang'' but hes still pretty similar to them (which fuel their hate even further).

His first mandate was pretty mild because he wanted to have everybody on his side and wanted everyone to move foward as one big family or whatever, but the elite hatred made them stab him at every opportunity.
