Australian government craps on about it endlessly but people don't realize that actual psycho fucks who beat the shit out of their partners don't care about any laws at all. Instead they have these laws that go so over the top that it just disincentivizes many relationships at all. There are commercials here where a guy complaining about his girlfriend spending too much money is "financial abuse". Any act whatsoever to have a boundary on your relationship is abuse, why would you want to get into a relationship then if you've got this legal weapon pointed at you? Where saying "no babe, I don't want you staying at your ex boyfriends place tonight" is the same as giving a Mortal Kombat uppercut. Next news segment they're complaining about a "man shortage" or some other bullshit.

It's just a disagreement between spouses to work it out.
