Japan exported a lot of anime in the 70s and 80s, which I suppose comes as no surprise to you, inc. to the Middle East and Latin America.

In El Salvador or some other Central American country in the 70s/80s (I'm pretty sure it was El Salvador) the army used these gun trucks during the civil war against the communists there (the FMLN; now they're a political party - Bukele turfed them out); they called them "Mazinger." And more recently, in Syria, there were these up-armored T-72s they nicknamed "Grendizer." Both names are anime references, and I think both series were by Go Nagai.

Then you'll not get it, around here Anime was not (only) something you watched online as a teen, we watched whatever was on TV during mornings, usually DBZ, very often Naruto, sometimes one piece, very rarely bleach.
Anime hits different when your whole generation watched the same stuff as a kid.

Did you guys know, the Bogatyrs, "Russian"" mythological characters and warriors are actually not Russian and were Ukrainian? Russia literally stole this from Ukraine and uses it as their "past warriors" when the Bogatyrs were actually ancient Ukrainian knights.

Is the Coffin of Andy and Leyley any good? What if it was set somewhere like Russia during something like the SMO? Mostly the combat gameplay would revolve around artillery and perhaps using a quadcopter for observation, but perhaps there might be a bit of repelling DRGs or shooting down quadcopters with small-arms fire.

Exactly. And Trump is only making it worse. Political instability is already getting precified in the futures market. Ultimately, they cannot afford currency devaluation because they have a colossal amount of debt. The entire global financial system will undergo a catastrophic collapse if the dollar loses value and the US keeps on their inevitable route to 40 trillion debt. And that's really the endgame to uproot the prison/slavery/information control system in the world, coupled with several wars and crisis at the same time.

Psychologists and their ilk are fond of inventing horseshit concepts/categories - anti-concepts, rather, since they tend to impede understanding rather than serving any useful purpose.

There's some useful aspects of psychology - psychometrics, for example, and also some of the more "mechanical" stuff:

They're 70% nigger, although I understand the place is pretty well-run considering the fraction of niggers is so large - or at least it was.

They managed to avoid being badly affected by the AIDS epidemic despite, for example, sending hundreds of thousands of troops to Angola, and they do a better job of dealing with hurricanes than many of their neighbors.

Well, lesson learned: don't subsidize the breeding of niggers.

I'll refresh my memory as to Patriot system organization and so on. I count 16 Patriot battalions; a Patriot battalion can have five batteries, a battery being the atomic unit of the system. People talk about launchers, but it's the fire-control radars (either MPQ-53s or MPQ-65s) and engagement control stations that are the really important thing.

Bush sanctioned a couple of thugs who worked for Chavez, but that's it. PDVSA still kept selling a fuckton of oil to everyone. Incredibly enough, Chavez found a way to infiltrate the country's generals on get rich quick schemes that involved mining gold and diamonds, also embezzlement and bribes in overdrafted contracts with PDVSA. A total shitshow. Then he court-packed the Supreme Court and started meddling with elections through a centralized electoral body.

I don't think any country ever has had "thousands" of AD batteries, esp. if by that you mean medium or heavy SAM systems. By comparison, I think the VKS in Russia has something on the order of a hundred S-300P/S-400 batteries - well, divizyons, which are nominally battalion-echelon, but they're fire units, like a Patriot battery. Anyway, I'll look some things up...

I know, but they still don't have that many *systems.*

No one "fortifies" SAM sites any more - there's a reason all the land-based SAM systems built by people who know what the fuck they're doing have everything mounted on self-propelled chassis. It's true that there's garrisons and so on - you've got to base things somewhere - and some permanent deployment sites, but they're not really fortifications; you certainly shouldn't imagine something like an ouvrage of the Maginot Line, with lots of concrete and, say, silo-type launchers for the interceptors.

One exception might be the AEGIS Ashore installation in Poland or wherever; that's in a pretty substantial concrete building, and I suppose it does technically qualify as a fortification, but I don't think it's that hard a target. The radars of the Russian A-135/A-235 system (the Moscow ABM system) are quite hard, though, and the MSR of the old US Safeguard system (at the SRMSC in North Dakota) was designed to withstand a pretty close nuclear hit, but that's not the fashion nowadays, and with good reason.

>>510424296
It's that way in general. The fire-control radar and so on are the central elements of the system. The launchers might be compared to rifle magazines; they're indispensible, but they're only part of a system, and useless by themselves, although I suppose it's understandable why people fixate on the *launchers* as such.

The only location protected by a permanently-deployed SAM system in the US proper is the White House and Executive Office Building; there's a couple NASAMS protecting it, but that's to stop terrorists; since its geography provides excellent protection, the US doesn't really have to do homeland air defense the way some countries in the old world do. There's been no strategic air defense - that is, of cities and so on - in the US since the 70s, and the USAF has never really liked the homeland air defense mission.

To be fair, there's nowhere else in the Americas that has anything like the SAM belts and so on found in China or Russia.

>fortified bunkers
North America's a low-threat environment. Anyway, the radars have to be out in the open to operate - you can't transmit through reinforced concrete - and bunkers are pretty vulnerable nowadays; even if you can't completely destroy them, you can at least collapse the entrances. In wartime, the best protection is mobility and frequent relocation - that, and shooting things down and having a layered defense.

The only missiles that I'm aware of that would have the range from Russian or Chinese mainland to hit mainland USA are all ICBMs. If nukes are fired then you're toast. Protection is all but pointless unless "protection" means "getting the fuck outta there".
>it'd not cost much to fortify AD sites
Yes it does. You're not slapping some cinderblocks around it and calling it a day. If you need to do it right you are pouring several meters worth of steel reinforced concrete.

Just look at how long it took Russia to start building reinforced aircraft shelters. They only really kicked this into gear after REPEATED ukrop attacks on their airfields. It wasn't a case of "no tech" but of priorities and of course money.

You know that ICBMs doesn't need to be armed with nuclear warheads, it's absolutely possible to use these to hit the American mainland.

>You're not slapping some cinderblocks around it and calling it a day.
I'm assuming the US will do a decent work and build +90m deep fortifications.

>Just look at how long it took Russia to start building reinforced aircraft shelters. They only really kicked this into gear after REPEATED ukrop attacks on their airfields. It wasn't a case of "no tech" but of priorities and of course money.
The USSR had a lot of fortified airfields, do you think Russia started to do this now?

But with American production number, I guess any of this is completly useless.

SAM systems can't operate from inside a tunnel.

>In wartime the best and only good protection is a huge number of AD batteries, operating from positions that cannot be easily taken down. No matter how mobile it is, 80 batteries is a bad taste joke.
You do need lots of SAM systems, but as I said, no country has thousands of systems - they're hard to produce, esp. if you're talking about the modern stuff.

https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/research/a13865168/this-ai-hunts-chinese-missiles-sites/
As of 2017, there were about 90 active SAM sites; the ones in China do have deployment sites; they have a distinct appearance from the air. Do note that many of these sites are very old, and date back to the 1960s; originally, the Chinese deployed HQ-2s there (their version of the S-75), but you can deploy more modern systems there just as easily.

https://geimint.blogspot.com/2010/06/site-analysis-ulan-ude-sam-garrison.html
This gives you some idea of what kind of permanent base facilities you'd use. In wartime, though, you disperse and keep relocating. Any open area will do - permanent fortifications aren't of any use if you're talking about at the firing emplacements.

Only a retard would see an ICBM heading his way and think "eh, it's probably not nuclear-tipped". There's a reason why Russia made a huge stink about Ukraine getting F-16s (capable of carrying nuclear-tipped missiles) and why Russia would absolutely fling shit if anyone ever offered Ukraine Tomahawks.
So no, the only time American mainland will get hit is if WW3 begins and there's a global nuclear exchange. This whole idea is a retarded non-starter.
>USSR had a lot of fortified airfields
"a lot" is not the same as "all of them"

No, that's retarded cope. Planes get flown periodically and have to be taken into a hangar for maintenance so the idea that they'd always be sitting outside for US satellites to check on doesn't pass the smell test. Even if Russia somehow felt bound in this way there was nothing stopping them from building shelters anyway just in case.
Russia did not build many hard shelters for the same reason America does not: there was no threat.

I'm sure they have plenty for storing things in, or as central command posts and so on.

In wartime, though, their SAM systems will relocate at frequent intervals, radiate only when absolutely necessary, etc.

There are permanent firing positions, as I said, but they're pretty modest - no silos, no great big casemates, etc. - just berms/revetments, perhaps in reinforced concrete. The concrete's there mostly so you've got a nice surface, as opposed to for protection.

>>510425302
Neither the USSR/Russia, nor the Chinese, have developed an SAM system designed to operate from fixed locations since the mid-60s. Believe me, it's a lot harder to develop something self-propelled with five-minute shoot-and-scoot capability than it is to design something to operate from fixed locations with lots of concrete.

There are some permanent structures designed to help out deployed SAM systems in Russia - for example, around Moscow, there's these towers onto which e.g. the fire-control radars of systems like the S-300P or S-400 can be lifted by crane; some actually work like elevators and have these very large hydraulically-elevated platforms. These, however, aren't designed to offer any physical protection; they're just there to get the radars up above the treeline.

You could in principle adapt the Taurus to carry a nuclear warhead, but it's a bit of an engineering job. I'm not sure if it's been exported to any nuclear weapons state, and the US has only ever shared *nuclear bombs* (for delivery by aircraft) with its allies; I'm not sure any country has ever supplied another country with *nuclear warheads* to be fitted to a guided missile that other country designed itself, although perhaps it's happened in secret. If so, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are the mostly likely candidates - ever hear of the Saudi strategic missile force?

Relocate in a broad range around the fortified base, allowing batteries to resupply, repair and keep operating beyond the first couple of weeks.

I wonder how US forces will work after this initial moments.

It was in the Russian news too a couple of days ago. I honestly thought that it wouldn't appear in the western propaganda and would be discarded as Zigger lies, it's too inconvenient to be published.

its a boring story: a car sharing startup went bust and this is the remains of their fleet
someone took a few pictures of it and people put their own spin on what actually happened

Kinda makes sense, strange that they didn't sold the cars, but there should be a reason for this.

I'm not a Californian. Anyway, I think Russia's an interesting country; it has all the right enemies and it pisses off all the right people, and I'm fairly well-versed in its history.

I don't see what this has to do with air defense, though.

>>510426036
None of the things you mention are permanent firing emplacements. The trouble is that if there's enough of a threat that you need that sort of protection, then the entrances and exits to the bunkers themselves are vulnerable - those are fixed targets and relatively few in number. Honestly, without favorable geography, there's not that much you can do, but this doesn't just apply to air defense; in general, nowadays your defenses have to be very deep.

Command and control can be in a deeply-buried central facility. The other things you keep concealed, and you relocate them on a frequent basis - that's perfectly possible - it's just like keeping any other kind of military unit in the field.

Goog morning sister lover fren.
Fun story - I was travleing Russia with my tactical tailor backpack (by the way highly recommend, I've been using it for almost 15 years, in most of my travels, airsoft, hiking and even just going around town and its still like fucking new).
When crossing to Kazakshtan by car the border guy demanded to see the owner of the backpack (me) and asked
>SHOW ME WHATS INSIDE
>(show bottles of water, snacks and phone charger)
>why are you going to Kazakshtan??
>uh... I'm going home?
>(after seeing my passport) When and why did you buy the backpack!?
>Like 15 years ago at bazar, why?
>uh ok (and walked away ackwardly)
So yeah I was for a moment suspected of being a merc in SVO. But yeah, thinking isnt their strong suit - if i had guns or something I wouldnt put them in a camo backpack, I would put them in my baggage that they didnt check for roids and roid accessories (I didnt have the former but I did stock up on cheap clomiphene and tamoxifen for PCT)

I guess if you want to blow up Moscow you should expect it to take a bit of work. NATO's had more than 3 years to sort it out.
Russia is certainly going to expect anything that can carry a H-bomb aimed at Moscow to be carrying a H-bomb and that includes the heavier JASSMs.

With modern surveillance, mobile assets are easy to find and target as static ones, by keep these things unsheltered it'll be targeted and destroyed.

> then the entrances and exits to the bunkers themselves are vulnerable - those are fixed targets and relatively few in number.
Even it an entrance is hit, it means all the assets are intact, and it'll take a day to clean the entrance. This is assuming all entrances are known and have been hit at the same time.
This is far better than losing your assets to an enemy strike.

>but this doesn't just apply to air defense; in general, nowadays your defenses have to be very deep.
I'd say +60m

it was very bad timing on behalf of the startup
they bought the cars at the start of the EV boom, and by the time they realized their business wasn't going to make it their models were several generations out of date and completely unsellable

this is a pretty common story though, whenever you see huge graveyards of bikes, e-bikes, scooters, etc. its all from startups going bust and new tech making their fleet obsolete
this is such a common problem that there are state owned recycling companies founded specifically to solve it

Lold reminds me one moment when I drive with crew on awaiting area.
Drive was at dusk and we run on a commander civilian car. There is no enough room in a trunk(because our commander "exquisite enjoyer of autosaund") so we just wear all our gear and get in the car. Rolling through one last checkpoint and MP-faggot in last moment noticing that we drive. He just scarly waved own traffic controller's baton and tell driver to show docs. It was kinda challenging to open window in a gear so he's just open the door. And this moment engaged light in the roof and now MP-fag saw that there is 4 guys at full equipment. immediately this guy apologize and tell as a good day.
