Rats are neophobic, they don't trust new food and they take a small bite to see if they get sick from it first. If there's poison no other rat will touch that food again. Besides, if you manage to kill them with poison they could die in your walls and become a mess. Just seal entry points and use snap traps, or call a professional, nigger.
