Nah, I think the magic negroe trope is more aspirational than it is rational. There's part of us that wishes less developed races are on the same level as us, if for no other reason then that there would be less unnecessary conflict between us. But also for some i think the idea that there could be people like us but also not like us is intriguing( i think that's why we tend to like the nips here), and that hope skews our perception of reality.
