rail against corporate America and the government all you want but they're the reason that most of this country's population is surviving. nobody has initiative, conviction, self reliance, or the willingness to learn anymore.
most people can barely comprehend anything beyond their degree and employer's training.
send them a basic text about billing or scheduling and it may as well be in hieroglyphs. try and show them how to use a breaker or shut off a gas valve and they may as well be blindfolded. confront them or stand up for yourself in any way, and they flop like a fucking fish.
they are only able to survive because of the institutions most people hate. corporate America tells them when to arrive, when to leave, where to sit, how to dress, what to do, how much they make, how often they're paid, and sets rules for how they're treated while working. if people could do this themselves they'd never bow down to their executive overlords.
meanwhile nanny government's labor laws and regulations make sure that these masses are coddled and avoid most of the consequences for their idiocy and errors.
these people would be dead in the streets if the safety net was pulled and they had depend on even the slightest amount of self reliance.
