>>510500746 (OP)old people bruise really easily. you see that vein in his hand, it's probably where they draw blood for labs. old people get poked, and they bruise. his arms are probably bruised too.
that's normal
as your body ages and if you aren't in shape, if you sit or stand for long periods your ankles will swell, especially if your overweight.
this is also normal for a person his age
my question is why is he getting so many blood tests?
they do that for certain medications like coumadin, an old school blood thinner. you'd take that if you had afib or were trying to prevent a stroke or if you have DVT.
he may have deep vein thrombosis, basically a blood clot in his leg, so he's on blood thinners and it would explain the swelling, because his vascular system isn't the greatest in his legs. him taking coumadin and not one of the newer blood thinners would be in line with politicians not taking any of the newer drugs, go back to HRC's medication list.
or he could be taking allopurinol because he has gout (not a stretch considering his diet) they would be regularly testing his liver function with that drug; gout is usually in the ankles or feet. he could have swelling in his ankles but not having a full flare up because of medication.
I'm thinking it could be either of those two things based on the limited evidence, but neither are terribly serious if properly managed.
