Last time I was stuck working with an H-1B, he didn't even know array indexes in C++ start from zero instead of one. He claimed to have a CS degree from IIT and had definitely been working for Amazon for three years prior to getting transferred to the company we were at.

The "array indexes don't start from 1 in C++" thing is something that you do once during your first programming class in your first semester intro-to-programming class in college, and then you waste days trying to figure out why everything is crashing, and then you finally figure it out and you STOP DOING THAT FOREVER. But in his case, he apparently made it all the way through college, then went to work in the U.S. for at least three years, and still hadn't figured it out. Instead, he just filed bug reports claiming that my code was what was making everything crash.

Needless to say, I was the one who got fired, while the company kept him because he cost half as much.

Anyway, that company crashed and burned and is now "worth" $35 million dollars, whereas when I was working there it was one of those Silly Valley super-startups worth multiple billions. Stock price while I was there was in the mid-double-digits, they've had multiple reverse splits since then, and today somehow the stock is still "worth" seventy-three cents a share, fuck knows why since they don't do or make anything any more, maybe the CEO is still laundering money to leftist politicians like he did back then. So I guess management got their money's worth.
