>>510513935It really is. I have always envisioned basically the cheapest possible drones sent up by the tens of thousands and each drone has like 1 missile, bomb, or something for air to air. Then there would be sensor-specialist drones, small balloons, etc interspersed with the missile and bomb carrying drones. The missile and bomb carrying drones would also have sensor arrays for detecting enemies. Of course, once this level of tech is achieved, its possible that weaponized nano-tech swarms, mass cheap EMP bombs or EMP producing drones, or other varied techs could require adaptation of this strategy. I just see drone motherships or blimps staggered like a grid in all 3 dimensions to be the most realistic thing for rapid threat elimination. The whole "plane take off from base, go to target, come home" just seems like stuff from early 1900s.
