We call this a โ€œMontreal Screwjob" here in Quรฉbec (kweebeck for you outsiders). The best thing too is that you just wait in the cold at the truck near the depanneur where you buy your Molson at 2am tabnak and heat it up at home.

What food deals/ traditions do you have where you live?

>$2 worth of food for only $15???
Cheese curds are generally pretty expensive and have to be very fresh to maintain their signature texture and squeak. $15 Canadian dollars is like $11 USD. That looks like a shitload of food and calories so at this point it's about average. A large mcgoyslop meal costs about the same and you get less food and more beetus

They aren't actually burnt to shit in OPs pic (i think), they are actually usually quite soggy when they look like that, here we call them fair fries because they are served like that from food trucks at county fairs, I don't know if it's old oil or using russet potatoes or what but that's I've had fries that looked like that often that were actually quite soggy and greasy. I don't mind them if that's what I'm expecting (at a fair) but I wouldn't want that from a typical place
