The Feds always avoid having to acknowledge something to be related to national security or national interests when it really is the case.
While there may not be a single formal list of clients, a list of people linked to Epstein can definitely be compiled from what the Feds have on him.
When people are calling for release of the list, what they really mean is that they want to be able to know Epstein's network of connections and the nature of each connection. So it is not just a list of names people are after, they are after everything the Feds have on Epstein.
If they release the evidence with redactions it most likely will invite an even greater backlash than not releasing at all.
Look at how people are responding to the edited CCTV footage.
I figure the Feds know this and that is probably why they are trying to put it off.
Either way it can be reasonably concluded that someone(s) on "the list" is of far greater importance to the government than the public opinion. So who exactly could those be?
Obviously, no one who is even remotely associated with Epstein wants their name under public spotlight, but some on the list will have a particular significance/importance to the current government, and that is who we really ought to find out and why.
It is possible to deduce much of Epstein's network based on open source intel anyway.
