how long would you be able to survive in the jungle with minimal supplies? what's your strategy?
>>510526302 (OP)Probably half a day
Something stupid would kill me most likely which is funny because my great grandparents literally grew up in a place that survived jaguar attacks
>>510526358*leopard attacks
Freudian slip, I was thinking of the car
>>510526302 (OP)I'd just start fucking monkeys until they killed me
>>510526302 (OP)120 years, give or take a few
I would conquer the birds first, and from there everything would fall into place
>>510526302 (OP)Six years so far.
>what's your strategy?Look where you step, check where you shit and sleep, peer into everything before you drink it.
Also buy tons of those fucking moisture absorbing sachets and keep all your electrical shit in bags with those.
>>510526302 (OP)Hours at best
step one Clear and burn area i need an Area based area enjoyers
step 2 construct some sort of camp set up water and try to find food
step 3 die to venomus insect bite or forest fire from area clearing.
>>510526302 (OP)Not very long, there's venomous snakes and multiple bugs as well that can either kill you or give you a long term illness slowly killing you, not to mention larger cats and parasites. In an off chance I actually do manage to get some food, then I would look for large leaves and wood on making shelter, possibly lifting it off ground so the little shits wouldn't crawl where I sleep. Mosquitos can also be deadly so I'd have to work for a way to find either a plant that smells bad for them acting as a repellent or just completely isolate the shelter. If all of this miracously goes well with the food issue resolved, then I'd satisfy my needs by furiously masturbating since there's shit to do.
>>510526760i would run a "burn trench" around my area 24/7 i dont know how but we would figure something out
i would use the ashes from the burn trench to fertilise my crops that i would grow from random fruit i picked up from the forest floor
i would keep feeding the burn trench and murdering anything that moved untill eather i was gone or the forest was
simple as.
>>510526764The humor is that I am disconnected from that ~ there, joke killed
My ancestors colonized the globe, I'll have no problem in the jungle
>>510526302 (OP)In those conditions, you probs want to build a raised platform to sleep on. Bamboo or similar.
>>510526760>burn areaThat should fix the insect problem. If you wait around a fire until the whole jungle starts to get smoky, i highly doubt animals would care about eating or preying when their instincts tell them they should run fast and away from the smoke.
To survive your own device, you should wear a wet fabric as a mask
>>510526302 (OP)>minimal suppliesDefine exactly, cannot speculate improve without defined load out. Otherwise, first priority is clean water. Find natural rainwater traps or dig a hole near the river to use soil as a (admittedly questionable) filter...
Well, jungles are Fucked!
Straegy is a place where fire can be made, dry wood area and ways to get water and boil it without dying going near it!
Fire is a start to keep the bugs a bit at bay, wrapping of legs and body as much as possible.
Building shelter as soon as possible that can kep lifeforms out.
Nedless to say some form of weapon would immediately be required, stick, stone, spear... if I had a machete that would be preferable. If not I would look to making sharp objects latter on.
I would burn wood and keep the ash, use ash to keep areas and promoters less attractive to crawling beasts.
I would make steaks that are sharp and create parameters around the shelter.
Everything would be centered towards clean water, keping dry, keping clear of small animals especially, shelter, weapons and hunting snearing and fishing.
Then I would focus on mobility, ability to move and set up shelters that are survivable in order to try and find a way out of the jungle.
Most likely water rout would be the way.
Beyond the obvious answers, I would try to be mindful of my surroundings and attempt to integrate myself into the environment.
This is a functioning system around me, and I need to find a way to harmonize and coexist with it.
I am the newcomer. I must learn the language.
As for time, I would last a long time, because believing I can is the first step to doing so.
>>510526302 (OP)Depends which jungle, water is obviously not an issue so its mostly about if the food you're trying to gather is poisonous, I'd say from one month to decades, I'd say probably closer to only one month because I'd off myself due to the humidity, if you have ever been to a jungle type enviroment as a white person thats the most intolerable aspect of it by far
>>510526764Fucking jeet with 0 reading comprehension. Stick to reading Jeetish.
>>510526302 (OP)i spent alot of time in rural nicaragua and guatemala (2yrs) and i could probably live indefinitely baring sickness. my strategy would be catch fish and small animals and forage for other food, sleep in a tree and boil before drinking.
>>510528218fire then water gota boil that shit after filtering it through sediment from the bottom of the river
sand filter boil charcoal filter
get fucked we surviveing this one. kek
the burn trench provides
>>510530518the only thing necessary is bring to a boil, as soon as it starts to boil its good, no need with filtering.
>>510526302 (OP)>wake up in jungle>i've literally never been in a jungle before and am not familiar with the flora and fauna>don't know what I can eat>don't know how to find safe drinking water>probably try looking for plants with leaves that collect water>might or might not find that>don't know what materials are good for filtering water>have to construct rain collector without tools>probably die by poisoning my self trying to test what I can eat>or else get bitten by a venomous snake or stung by a venomous bug and die in agonyThat would be the reality
But if you dropped me off in anywhere in the wilderness of northern Europe i'd survive and maybe even thrive. I know nearly every wild plant in the ditch and what it can be used for. Sloe berries. Black berries. Wild cherry. Wild carrot. Celandine. Billberries. Willow herb. Silver weed. Dandelion, water mint... you can eat all of that and many many more. And not to mention all the plants that can serve as utility like cordage, adhesive, medical purposes, poison, tool making, lighting fire ect. Easy. I could survive for a very, very long time. But drop me off in the congo, I wouldn't last a week
>>510527009Yea they did that by using the locals as slaves... now be honest about the question, how would you survive without your beans and turkey twizzlers?
>>510529612How do you deal with something like a bad cut/fleshwound? In that kind of environment surely infection is a serious concern...
>>510526945Are those even cozy in winter? seems like they would be a bitch to heat.
I wouldnt know, since i never even seen such a cabin.
>>510531106burn the fuck out of it
you take your knife you put it in the fire you cauterise the would
then every day you clean it and if it starts to rot you fill it with maggots and surround it with leeches
>>510531234they have giant wood stoves in the middle of them you just add wood 24/7 they are extreemly cozy unless you need wood
>>510529612What would you use to boil water if you had only the hands that god gave you? You'd have about 4 days max to figure it out before you're a goner
>>510526302 (OP)Doesnโt matter, Iโd get bitten by a murder spider and die the first week
>>510531310I see. Appreciate the explanation. thanks
>>510531106i would do my best to keep it clean and try to prevent infection, probably try to ferment so fruit juice to clean it. for parasites i would go on a three day fast and eat nothing but coconut milk, sprains strains i would soak in water that was boiled with the bark of the mango tree. cuts/fleshwounds are probably the biggeat health concerns to the mayan, they get extremely stressed out over minor cuts because of infection
>>510531234If you have access to firewood itโs not that bad. You might spend several hours a day cutting said firewood though.
My ex girlfriend had a wood stove heated house in the Canadian Rockies. I would spend like 1 hour a day chopping & splitting wood to have enough prepared firewood for that day and night.
Itโs actually pretty cost, my grandparents had a cabin in Northern Saskatchewan that was heated with a wood stove.
>>510531316hollow out a piece of wood and set it near a fire (not over the fire) until it boils. ive literally drank lots of water out of the rivers, hell i even drank managua tap water
>>510526302 (OP)Not long, I am not made for such environments.
If it were a colder ecosystem I could survive indefinitely.
>>510526302 (OP)Start gathering wood and stone and build a small shack. Then go look for watermelon
>>510528783If you survive long enough you can turtle in with a brick hut. A leopard cannot go through brick and tile. I would make a steppe with a moat around it.
https://youtu.be/eesj3pJF3lA?si=yndzoMU6tZ5WpZow
>>510526302 (OP)Quite a while. Food and water is fairly plentiful in the jungles here as are cave systems and there's not really many predators. Diseases from mosquitos would be my biggest concern.
>>510531812>hollow out a piece of woodWith the sharpest stone you can find I presume, which might take you that 4 entire days to do depending on the stone and the wood. If you actually find a sharp stone or can break one in the right way then it might only take a couple of hours and you might survive. Chance could just screw you over. The first place i'd look for stones would be a river, but they'd obviously all be smoothed out and would have to break them. And I might get got by a crocodile in the process
>>510526302 (OP)Forever because JUNGLE IS MASSIVE
https://youtu.be/rz3JVZbmoCg?feature=shared
>>510532227>Food and water is fairly plentiful in the jungles hereExcept the water is full of disease and parasites. If you don't have any tools, then you are gonna have a very hard time surviving the first week just trying to sterilise water. What do you guys do about that?
>>510526302 (OP)I wouldn't be in the jungle. I have type O blood and attract every mosquito in a 10 mile radius. I'll stick to temperate forests.
>>510526302 (OP)> how long would you be able to survive in the jungle with minimal supplies?Forever.
> what's your strategy?Find giant underground bunker or find abandoned building. Lock the entire place down with code locks, barbed wire and cameras.
Establish camp. Stock up on water at a local source using water filter. Hunt local wildlife for food. Kill anybody that disturbs me.
>>510532700Itโs called a filter and boiling it
>>510530960>wake up in jungleOkay
>i've literally never been in a jungle before and am not familiar with the flora and faunaI have been in the jungle before
>don't know what I can eatYou can eat mammals
>don't know how to find safe drinking waterFilter and boil
>probably try looking for plants with leaves that collect waterYou make a bowl if you donโt have one already
>might or might not find thatBowls are easy to make
>don't know what materials are good for filtering waterCloth, or a water filter
>have to construct rain collector without toolsYou can make pots out of mud and clay
>probably die by poisoning my self trying to test what I can eatIf you donโt prep your hunt properly, maybe
>or else get bitten by a venomous snake or stung by a venomous bug and die in agonyIf you donโt know how to wrap a snake bite you shouldnt be in the jungle
>>510526302 (OP)Wait, jungle it rainforest. Jungle indefinitely, rainforest a few days
>>510532370> With the sharpest stone you can find I presume, which might take you that 4 entire days to do depending on the stone and the woodJesus christ dude. Youโve got no experience and it shows
>>510532370yeah i would just probably use a coconut shell. i lived in the jungle with the mayan for a couple years anon, next time i go i will inquire about natural infection remedies. they use clay pots to boil water in the olden days. picrel is a piece of a pot a road construction crew found and gave me when they were building a road. its from el salvador
>>510532227I know how to boil water and there's plenty of material for fires. In the end compared to most regions where I'd be stuck in the wilderness Asia is probably the best.we still have plenty of villages here actively doing it everyday. The weather is good. Plenty of rain for water, small animals, fish, frogs etc to eat and caves for shelter if I didn't just outright build a place
>>510526302 (OP)Some poisonous critter would kill me fast, I can last for a while in a temperate/mountainous forest tough
The thing about survival is not being able to hunt game like in your vydia or hollyjew movies, but knowing what plants and shrooms to forage, at what time of year and so on, yeah, it may seem kinda boring, but walking through a forest all day long is my favourite thing to do
day or two
just start a forest fire, burn all the dangerous animals, predators, poisonous including bugs and eat whatever charred corpse is left
>>510526302 (OP)Much harder to survive in the taiga of the great north. More than 9 in 10 people would literally die within the first 2 months of winter.
