MIB
Making the decision to withhold information from people to protect them.
Is there any greater act of deceptive wickedness than keeping people in the darkness and saying it's for their own good, plucking from the flock at whim, while you live where all is clear, all is visible?
The meta-lie here is that if you're strong enough it's worth it to live this way.
That's what power is, knowing the truth, while others do not, cannot know.

>it's worse than you imagine
i doubt it.
what would happen if they knew? i think people would get used to it in about 5 years.
of course the govt thinks that the people would revolt. they would. they just think that the revolution would destroy the country, when in reality, it would probably more than save it. it's an inevitability, the delay, the strength of the delay is the only difference. governmental politics as far as history is concerned is the development of evermore clever methods of pulling the wool over people's eyes. that they'd be freer, happier, see clearer without this occlusive wool is obvious to any individual. the idea that we were anything other than individuals to begin with, well.

let's say aliens are real, all the ufo footage is real, all the alien videos and autopsy are real. I don't see how admitting it to the public would cause mass panic. I mean were doing alright, if the aliens wanted to or could, we would be dead by now.
I could see religions maybe having some problems, and even some christians trying to convert the aliens

Truth is a transcendant beauty which good leans toward.
To deny Truth is to deny beauty/good in this world.
You might believe it is a necessary evil, but it is evil nonetheless and I believe we shouldn't compromise with evil.
Therefore, fuck you.

Give a man a knowledge they will learn once. Teach a man to get knowledge and they will learn forever on their own and you don't have to do shit ;)

The thing about secrets is you can't keep them hidden forever. Eventually the cracks start to show, and the people start noticing things themselves. Not everyone is meant to be able to handle everything, we weren't made to, but still there is room for growth in knowing these things. Why deny the people that growth?

all we're doing all day is thinking about it anyway, why would we panic?

you misunderstand me, i'm of the same opinion here, man. i think that it is wicked to deceive people by pulling the wool over their eyes.

america, or more accurately the american empire, would collapse if it turned out they were blackmailing everybody to do their bidding, literally no country would trust them anymore and even europe would rather deal with russia than usa at that point
the consequences would never be the same

gatekeeping is a social process much like values or ethical consideration, which ends if someone wants to be left alone and is responsible for themselves. Lie, not lie, public, hiding the truth are all meaningless in the face of the ability to decide what you will do.

it stupid! everyone knows about the problem then everyone can address it collectively. if everyone knew Aliens are on Earth then no one would give a shit just like no one gives a shit about birds and other animals living alongside.

how can you make prudent choices when you're in the dark? about the food you eat, about what your kids learn in school, about what funds your doctor's trips to antigua?
let's be honest that no matter the global complexity, information has been one of the most powerful forces we've had access to as human beings, in ANY context.

Someone taught you wrongly at some point that paper beats rock in real life and that isn't the case. Information is all garbage in garbage out at every level and for every effect. Human communication, interpretation and comprehension are garbage second only to contextualized information. If I reached my hand out of your device and slapped you in the face the information of my slap would not help you in any way and would only hurt you. There isn't winning nor a game.
