Message my army reserve unit a question or volunteer for something, they leave my message on open.

Fucking shit is so infuriating. What happened to a simple "sorry! Busy but I'll get working on it!" Or "We reviewed your application and will contact you soon!" Or just a fucking "sorry! We are not hiring at this time/we reviewed your application and we unfortunately can't offer you the job!" or just BASIC FUCKING COMMUNICATION.

Can confirm op. I can't tell you how many people I'm meeting in business settings who refuse to answer their phones, insist on text only then ghost for no reason. It's a lot of fun trying to get something done with a back and forth text conversation over the course of hours or days when it could be resolved with a 2 minute phone call. You text only idiots are losing money over this shit. At this point I insist up front that someone has to answer their phone when called in reply to their text, or I'm fucking ghosting YOU. Assholes.

People at work used to try to do this to me. I would then track them down in their office and barge in and make a nuisance of myself (politely) until they did what I want.

Eventually the assholes learned to just do what I wanted promptly, and the lazy people became my friends and then they would do me the favor of doing their jobs, and I would do them the favor of being their work friend and listen to their bullshit.

One time I ambushed fuckers from the east coast at a conference with incredibly specific issues they had been blowing off. This was after a week of calling their phone every five minutes for hours a day. They're lucky I was transferring by that point, because if not I'd have barged into their boss' offices to complain about them.

Sometimes being the solution is wrong. Sometimes you need to become the problem.
