Nurses, however, do this exact thing.
Either because they hate babies in general and want the child to suffer, or hate your baby in particular because of some petty reason you unwittingly gave them, or because they think it's funny as a joke because they're immature shitheads who can't do their damn job properly or understand the consequences of their actions.
That said, bad doctors also exist and will also do the same shit even the mediocre competency nurses do.

no doctor or nurse will admit this though. so when they accidentally get your baby mixed up, and then realise later on - instead of fixing the mistake, since its just a job, and both the baby and mother are objectified as some sort of chore they need to do before they are allowed to go home. the mix up stays.
their interests are in opposition to the parents, if you put an airtag on your baby or some shit airtag on your baby you'd be a "nuisance". where thats obviously a perfectly reasonable thing to do if you apparently arent allowed to see them under threat of being shot (why is that?).
