Is it normal to slowly go blind as you get old? I need reading glasses now. I literally cannot focus my eyes without them. This was never an issue for me before.

I had perfect vision until I was 12. My right eye was fine until I turned 17. Now I’m in my early 20s and I can’t see shit without glasses. It's frustrating. I got stuck inside during the pandemic and spent way too much time staring at screens like a dumbass teenager. I hate the politicians who pushed those lockdowns. I wish they’d just die

61, 25-20 vision, stigmatism all my life, cataracts forming, gel in the eye loses structure as you get older too. That increases the risk of a detached retina.
Advice from an old guy, don't rub your eyes, wear sunglasses.

I needed reading glasses in my early 40s, it worried me as it came on quite rapidly but apparently it does do that.
Only need them for reading and using PC.

also, try pulling your eyelid out a little and rolling your eyes around.
then let go of your eyelid and roll your eyes around.
It helps work shit to the corner of your eye without scratching the cornea

>I feel for you guys.
If you're lucky, it happens so slow you don't realize it. You just adjust little by little.
I didn't notice anything until a year ago. I got a huge floater in one eye that partially blocked my vision. That's what happens as the gel degrades. Eventually it works it's way out of your vision, or your mind gets used to it and autofilters it out.

Started in my late 30s. It's only when either reading or using phone/computer.
On another note, scientists say that by 2050 60% of the world will be nearsighted due to smartphone use

Alright you four eyed mother fuckers. I'm about to drop you a little secret used by a little known man called Nostra-fucking-damus that may help restore your eyesight with some time and some luck. You will need a few factors that can help you, including a good diet so that the body can use better circulation and aid your eye's capillary action. Then you will need a bowl of pure, clean water, the cleaner the better. Wash your hands and your face before using the bowl.

Step 1: Place your whole face in the water.

Step 2: Open your eyes and roll your eyes in the water, trying to cover as much of the eyeballs surface area in water.

Step 3: Massage the eyeball through the eyelid a couple of times. You can do this in the bowl or outside it.

Step 4: Repeat as necessary, massaging and "shaping" the eye as best as you can into a polished sphere.

Step 5: Do this for at least 15 minutes daily. Within a year you should get your 15/15 up to 19/19 vision.

Good luck.

I have perfect vision even though sometimes i stare at the sun and shit like that, i don't think it's genetics, i feel bad for you guys so i'll tell you what i think it is, i never look at something bright with dark surroundings, if you watch TV turn the light on, don't wake up with your phone without turning the light on first, that always hurt my eyes way more than just staring at the sun or a bright light when everything else is bright. Also don't strain your eyes too much.

>Is it normal to slowly go blind as you get old?
Ordinal causes:
1. Congenital (chinks have it)
2. Misuse (screens, squinting, reading in the dark)
3. Poor diet (eat carrots)
